Fall Vintage Wedding Cupcakes

I loved creating these...only thing, I wished that I had made more.  They literally disappeared in minutes.  The Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Buttercream featured chocolate curls.  (Lots and lots of chocolate...mmmm...).  The White Cake with Vanilla Buttercream featured candied pearls.  The leaves were shaped from my now favorite yummy Marshmallow Fondant and dusted with petal dust.  And the lace cupcake liners I cut from circle paper doilies - which was far less expensive to make than to buy already made, and just as pretty.

"It's So Fluffy, I'm Gonna Die!"

If there is anyone out there who even happens upon my blog anymore, you've probably wondered what has become of me. Maybe you think I'm lazy or perhaps just know I don't have much time for the internet world any more. I would hope you'd think the latter - as that is just it. Very little time for all the things I want to do in this lifetime. But one thing I love about this world wide web is the vast information and ideas shared between us that inspires and motivates and lights a fire within, to even just TRY to be better, no matter what that may be.

I hope that even my small corner in cyberspace may do to same for you at times. And with that being said, I'll try to post things that I've been up to, even if I have nothing to say about it.

These little Despicable Me Minion cupcakes were made for a very happy 4-year-old boy! And Claire, thanks so much for your example and encouragement - I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the fondant! (I will post more of what I've done with it another time).

Who has time anymore?

Alright, I know that if you want to do something you will make the time for it. But really, I wish I had time for EVERYTHING that I want to do.

With that being said, I do have something to share. A 'shaped' cover for an infant car seat. It's a project that I've mulled over for some time and did not think I would actually get to it for some time longer - or ever. I was very excited when I was given the opportunity to make it for a gift.

One reason I chose to shape the cover, rather than make the more common elastic-fitted-cover, is so that the seat belt paths are more easily accessible. I also widened the panels on the shade for a little more coverage.

I love what my sewing machine (a beautiful gift I treasure every time I use it) allows me to do. If there is any advice I can give, it is to find something to challenge yourself, tell yourself you can do it, and then see it through - it is so rewarding!
